Reporting to the Manager of Curriculum Assurance, the Curriculum Quality Assurance Specialist spearheads intricate curriculum initiatives and collaborates closely with team members to enhance the operations and overall effectiveness of the department. Under the guidance of the Manager, this specialist provides strategic recommendations to leadership regarding decision-making, planning, and management of curriculum and related support materials. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing significant activities and resources tied to curriculum development and execution, ensuring the delivery of superior quality curriculum and associated materials.

If you are dedicated to excellence and accountability, thrive in a dynamic work environment, and possess a passion for enhancing the content and quality of new curriculum, you may be the right fit for this role. This position demands strong leadership, collaborative teamwork, and a solid understanding of curriculum development processes, as well as familiarity with The Guiding Framework for the Design and Development of Kindergarten to Grade 12 Curriculum. Experience in delivering professional learning is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage with internal and external stakeholders (including cultural and community leaders) to

Advocate for curriculum development and implementation while encouraging broader participation from cultural and interest groups. Ensure the authentic inclusion of Francophone and First Nations, Métis, and Inuit perspectives in the curriculum development and implementation processes. Build and maintain effective communication and working relationships with stakeholders to guarantee timely and accurate information exchange and issue identification.

2. Enhance branch operations by

Collaboratively participating in decision-making regarding content, development processes, research, and planning. Offering insights and recommendations on emerging issues, opportunities, and challenges. Creating analyses, business cases, and briefing notes to support decision-making processes. Assisting in the design and delivery of professional learning for both internal and external stakeholders to foster curriculum engagement and implementation.

3. Address a high volume of information requests by

Analyzing the nature and complexities of the request. Conducting thorough research on all relevant issues. Identifying key considerations and formulating recommendations. Preparing comprehensive department responses, including briefing materials, appropriate support documents, and correspondence.

4. Implement curriculum development processes and guidelines to ensure alignment with policy and meet the diverse needs of students by

Providing objective reviews, feedback, recommendations, and guidance to ensure consistent application of the vision, guidelines, considerations, and features of The Guiding Framework. Developing assurance considerations, tools, and processes to assist curriculum writers in evaluating and refining their work. Identifying opportunities for enhancements and efficiencies in curriculum development processes. Promoting effective collaboration across teams to facilitate a shared understanding of the curriculum development process.
