Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at School District #6 (Rocky Mountain). As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing skilled journeyman work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, ensuring a healthy, clean, and safe environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct, install, maintain, inspect, and repair buildings, including walls, floors, and roofs.
  • Install, maintain, and repair interior and exterior wall finishes, such as drywall, wall board, stucco, and siding.
  • Construct, install, maintain, and repair millwork, doors, and associated hardware.
  • Install, maintain, and repair windows and glass.
  • Form, pour, place, and patch concrete.
  • Erect and work from scaffolds and ladders.
  • Assist and perform cross-classification work, such as grounds work, fencing, playground equipment installation, electrical, plumbing, hauling, and other related tasks.
  • Consistently demonstrate a fair, courteous, and patient approach when communicating with students, staff, parents, and other members of the public.
  • Perform winter maintenance, including snow removal, sanding, and ice removal.
  • Complete work orders as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • BC certificate of registration as a Journeyman or Certificate of Trade Qualification (TQ).
  • Valid driver's license in the Province of BC.
  • Red Seal certification in Carpentry would be an asset.
  • First Aid would be an asset.
