As a key member of the National Carwash Solutions Canada, Inc. team, the Assistant Controller will play a vital role in providing financial oversight to the Service, Install, and Equipment business. This position will serve as a consultant for business unit leadership and managers within the organization, advising them on current budgetary information and working with managers to create a fiscal strategy that aligns with the goals and success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise accounting procedures of the local business unit
- Analyze and assess the financial performance of the local business unit
- Develop policies, systems, special financial studies, etc. of major importance
- Advise management on matters of fiscal procedure and importance for the organization
- Assist in ensuring compliance with the financial procedures of the organization
- Manage and oversee the daily finance and accounting operations of the business, including:
- Month-end and year-end process
- Accounts payable/receivable
- General ledger accounting
- Cash forecasting
- Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- Payroll Journal Entries
- Forecasting
- Annual budgeting/planning process
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
- Assist with improving systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Provide leadership in understanding the manufacturing operations of the business units and helping to monitor relevant KPIs to drive operational excellence
- Comply with all applicable laws and company safety policies
- Post-Secondary education in Finance or Accounting
- CPA or CMA a plus
- 5+ years of financial and accounting related experience
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a service/project accounting environment
- Previous working experience in a private business setting with emphasis on maintaining proper GAAP accounting principles and practices
- Proven track record of driving financial results
- Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques
- Team lead/management experience
- Experience with manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting a large amount of data (MS Excel)
- Knowledge of AccPacc, NetSuite, or other ERP systems
- Annual Salary: $90,000
- In-Office Position
