Accounting Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at HGA CPA's. As a key member of our Senior Accounting team, you will be responsible for supervising the preparation of financial statements, reviewing the work of Staff Accountants, and completing complex portions of files.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements for business clients
  • Review the work of Staff Accountants and complete complex portions of files
  • Ensure high-quality control by overseeing and reviewing Compilation and Review engagements
  • Review Corporate, Personal, and Trust income tax returns and other tax forms
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries and reports
  • Make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets, and expenditures
  • Perform technical research, develop, and document tax planning recommendations for individuals and corporations
  • Assist with the execution of corporate reorganizations
  • Organize and prioritize the work of Staff Accountants, manage engagement costs, and billings
  • Mentor and support the professional development of Staff Accountants
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their needs are met and fostering relationship growth
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
  • CA or CPA designation, with a minimum of 5 years of public practice experience addressing the accounting and taxation needs of private companies and their shareholders
  • Extensive experience in compilation and review preparation
  • Experience leading and supervising staff
