- Vehicle Operation: Drive and operate straight or articulated trucks for transportation.
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
- Trip Management: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all vehicle aspects are monitored.
- Communication: Relay information to central dispatch and maintain accurate records.
- Documentation: Keep detailed logs of cargo information, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Safety Measures: Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping and handling.
- Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Licenses: Valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
- Documentation: Familiarity with accident reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail and safety.
- Physical Capability: Ability to handle heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Organized and reliable.
- A strong team player.
This position requires working 40 hours per week in a dynamic environment. Experience in the field is considered an asset.
