Highbrow LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our growing team of data engineering experts. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines that ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of our critical data assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee data quality and integrity across diverse data sources and systems.
  • Optimize data pipelines for peak performance and scalability.
  • Provide technical support to swiftly resolve escalated incidents or service disruptions.
  • Develop comprehensive solution designs, leveraging your deep subject matter expertise throughout the entire development lifecycle.
  • Translate business requirements, enterprise architecture standards, system performance expectations, and development guidelines into functional, technical, and user interface designs for applications and systems.
  • Contribute to cost-effective solutions that enhance stakeholder experiences by identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards, reusability, maintainability, and compliance. Participate in Operational Readiness Reviews and support the gating and review processes for solution designs.
  • Champion the use of existing reusable components and ensure new modules are designed with reusability in mind, aligning with business requirements.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies related to data engineering.
  • Construct and maintain optimal data pipeline architectures.
  • Implement data products curated by our Chief Data Office, as well as custom data models tailored for specific use cases.

Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Java developer.
  • Expertise in Java and Spring frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, HDFS, ADLS, ADF, Spark, Kafka, Databricks, and Dremio.
  • Proficiency in relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Cassandra.
  • Experience designing production-grade, scalable applications and microservices.
  • 5+ years of experience within the Capital Markets industry.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within Agile development teams.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
