About the Role

As a UI/UX Web Engineer at Toronto Film School, you will be instrumental in enhancing the online learning experience. Your primary responsibility will be to develop intuitive user interfaces that work seamlessly with our backend systems, ensuring an exceptional educational journey for our students. In this role, you will:

  • Create, implement, and oversee the front-end structure of our digital platforms using modern JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
  • Assess the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and maintain the integrity of user experiences across multiple devices.
  • Optimize web applications for performance and scalability, with a strong emphasis on security and data privacy.
  • Contribute to the development of our design system to ensure consistency in UI/UX.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align front-end design with educational goals and technological capabilities.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance our digital offerings.
  • Provide technical insights and guidance to leadership.

Your Background

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about crafting engaging user experiences and has a proven track record in developing robust web applications. Your qualifications should include:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in front-end web development, with a strong focus on JavaScript and React.
  • A diverse portfolio that demonstrates your ability to transform complex designs into user-friendly digital solutions.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma for converting visual concepts into functional interfaces.
  • Experience in implementing UI without extensive design guidance.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools and the ability to incorporate user feedback for data-driven improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, effectively bridging design and technical elements.

Competitive Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $90,000 to $120,000 annually, based on experience.
