About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Helpdesk Technician to join our team at the Kenora Catholic District School Board. As a key member of our Information Technology department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and monitor our IT systems to ensure continuity of services
  • Provide primary technical assistance on the helpdesk to support technical issues across all departments
  • Work closely with the IT Technician Lead on key projects across various platforms
  • Perform technical diagnostics and preventative maintenance on school board devices
  • Creates and maintains information technology documentation, contingency, and disaster recovery plans
  • Acts as a resource person to Board committees, school committees, school councils and staff in computer information technology matters
Requirements
  • College diploma in an IT related discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years IT work experience
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
  • Critical thinker with good troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem-resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as an individual contributor as well as part of a team and with other relevant stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to identify and manage changing priorities, to mitigate potential risks and query large data sets
  • Proficiency in providing and measuring exceptional Customer Service experience and maintaining professional working relationships with peers and external vendors
  • Industry standard certifications in an IT related discipline would be considered
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as it pertains to supporting end users with a varying degree of computer experience
  • Ability to develop priorities and sound documentation to support work within the scope of position
  • Passion for learning and implementing innovative solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure
  • Knowledge of the following considered an asset: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace Networking (Fortinet)
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range: $52,000-$74,000 per annum
  • 4 weeks starting vacation
