Senior Geotechnical Engineer

COWI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our global team of experts. As a key member of our functional team, you will be responsible for performing engineering analysis, design, and technical reports and drawings for tunnels and various underground structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the work of the temporary works team delivering retaining walls and steel structures for COWI as part of the FRTP project
  • Collaborate closely with the Client, Owner's Engineer Team, Design-Builder, Designer, and other Stakeholders during the design development
  • Act as the coordinating professional to direct COWI's delivery in temporary works along with being responsible for accurate forecasting, scheduling, and budgeting for the assigned tasks
  • Contribute expertise to the FRTP project and other assigned projects, ensuring adherence to quality systems and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform, review, and approve engineering analyses and design of retaining walls
  • Coordinate and review engineering analyses and design of temporary steel structures including temporary bridges and jetties
  • Classify, interpret, and characterize ground conditions from geotechnical data for the design of different structures including retaining walls, foundations, underground structures, and marine structures
  • Contribute to production, review, and approval of design deliverables such as technical memoranda, geotechnical design reports, geotechnical interpretative reports, and construction drawings
  • Provide input in digital delivery and information management of various projects from conception through to completion
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in BC
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience working in project design, carrying out analysis and design of retaining walls or similar underground structures
  • Experience in coordinating the design of steel structures (preferred)
  • Experience and familiarity with regional codes (North America)
  • Must have experience in Plaxis 2D/3D or similar geotechnical FE software
