Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging and innovative courses in interactive design and related areas, encompassing both in-person and remote learning modalities.
  • Mentor and support students throughout their academic journey, providing guidance on projects, fostering a collaborative learning environment, and promoting their professional development.
  • Actively participate in faculty and university-wide governance systems, contributing to the shaping of OCAD U's policies and initiatives.
  • Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive campus community by engaging with local and regional Indigenous and/or racialized communities and providing mentorship to Indigenous and/or racialized students and youth.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • A minimum of eight years of peer-recognized career achievement in interactivity and graphic design (four years with a Bachelor's degree). A Master's or PhD is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in code and algorithm-based design, with the ability to effectively teach these concepts to students.
  • A proven track record of professional practice and/or research relevant to interactivity and graphic design.
  • A deep understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, sustainability, and decolonization as essential elements of a high-quality student experience, innovative knowledge sharing, and design production.
  • A commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment for students, staff, and faculty.
Remuneration:

Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position offers access to comprehensive benefits and pension contributions after one year of service.
