At Precision Analytics, our software development team plays a critical role in driving our business forward. We rely on our developers to empower our data science team and work closely with clients to understand and deliver their requirements.

We utilize a wide range of technologies and continuously adopt new ones to stay at the forefront of scientific approaches. We're seeking an intermediate/senior software developer to join our small team. As a key member, you'll work directly with our clients, from small biotechnology start-ups to large pharmaceutical manufacturers, to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your responsibilities will include taking ownership of project components, exploring new data sources, and integrating them into our data pipeline. You'll also be expected to extend existing applications with new features and improve them by resolving issues identified internally and externally.

Our data pipeline, built in R, transforms and loads data into a mix of relational and columnar databases. An interactive application, developed in R and Shiny, enables scientists to analyze and visualize data to inform their research and development decisions.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in software development, data modeling, and database design. You'll need to be proficient in multiple programming languages, comfortable working with Linux, and able to communicate effectively with colleagues from diverse technical backgrounds.

Key requirements include:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a software developer
  • Experience with ETL pipelines, relational databases, and cloud-computing resources
  • Ability to manage and query data using SQL
  • Experience working with scientific data and organizations
