About the Role

As a Staff Software Engineer at GlossGenius, you will be part of a high-impact team focused on designing and enhancing our product offerings.

You will provide technical leadership to a distributed engineering team, advise the leadership team on key technology and product roadmap considerations, and own problems from end to end.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership to a distributed engineering team
  • Advising the leadership team on key technology and product roadmap considerations
  • Managing complexity and engaging directly with stakeholders
  • Working with Product Managers to prioritize roadmap initiatives
  • Driving engineering standards and levels of service forward
  • Architecting tools, services, and systems using well-accepted design patterns
  • Upholding GlossGenius's high standards for engineering and product quality
What We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly experienced software engineer with a strong technical leadership background.

Key qualifications include:

  • ~7+ years of software engineering experience, 3+ years of technical leadership experience
  • Comfortable working full-stack, with a lean toward either the backend or frontend
  • Excellent product instincts, with the ability to think about users first and make decisions rooted in the business context
  • Experience shipping consumer-facing products from 0 to 1
  • Effective communication of complex concepts and coordination across teams
  • Architectural and system design expertise in developing highly scalable and performant distributed systems
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
