Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist is a key member of the interdisciplinary team at The EMP, responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients and families. This role involves promoting, maintaining, and restoring functional performance through evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patients' functional needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify patients' strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
  • Design and implement adaptive equipment and strategies to enhance patients' independence and participation in daily activities.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote self-management and empowerment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of occupational therapy services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Membership in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists and eligibility for Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists membership.
  • Valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License and good driving record.
  • CPR Level C certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and demonstrate leadership and coaching skills.
