Key Responsibilities:
  • Administration, HR Processes, File Documentation and Data Integrity:
    • Provide HR support to employees and management, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Process and maintain HRIS data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
    • Coordinate HRIS data audits and ensure ongoing data integrity.
    • Develop and maintain effective human resources practices and processes within the organization.
    • Act as a resource to employees and management on HR-related matters.
    • Support the development of human resources programs, services, and initiatives.
    • Coordinate workflow of HR-related queries and maintain HR resources database.
  • Recruitment and Orientation/Onboarding:
    • Develop and maintain recruitment and orientation procedures and associated documentation.
    • Assist management in the recruitment and orientation cycles.
    • Support the recruitment of summer camp staff.
    • Post job openings and ensure compliance with organizational requirements.
    • Provide recruitment and hiring support to employees and management.
    • Maintain general orientation tools, documentation, and resources.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in social sciences, human resources, or related field.
  • Minimum two years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of human resources information systems.
  • Experience developing and maintaining processes to ensure efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Proficient with computer and Microsoft applications.
  • Respect and understanding of The Salvation Army - its mission, culture, and values.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
Preferred Skills/Capabilities:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible self-starter with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to take initiative to leverage approaches for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Possess operational business acumen.
Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $43,741 to $54,677 with the ability to progress to a maximum of $65,612. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
