About the Role

V Haul Trucking is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Driving and Vehicle Maintenance
    • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
    • Load and unload goods, taking care to secure them properly for transport.
    • Regularly inspect the vehicle's condition, checking tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
    • Perform emergency roadside repairs, using your problem-solving skills to get back on the road quickly.
    • Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle's maintenance.
  • Communication and Record-Keeping
    • Receive and relay information to central dispatch, keeping them informed of your location and any issues.
    • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, providing accurate data for our operations team.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Hold a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Personal Qualities
    • Demonstrate flexibility and reliability in your work, adapting to changing circumstances and meeting deadlines.
    • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues.
  • Training and Support
    • Be willing to train and develop your skills, taking advantage of opportunities to improve your performance.
