Key Responsibilities- Roof Installation and Repair: Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
- Single-Ply Roofing: Install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions.
- Roof Maintenance: Repair or replace shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings, and apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level.
- Metal Roofing: Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
- Mentorship Programs: Participate in mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, promoting a welcoming work environment.
- Cross-Cultural Training: Receive diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
- Youth Support: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth and provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth.
- Indigenous Support: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, and provide cultural competency training to all employees.
- Mature Worker Support: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination and provide awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
