Position Overview
This role is pivotal in steering a group of SAP specialists who are dedicated to enhancing our current enterprise application frameworks while also integrating new functionalities.
Reporting directly to the Director of Enterprise Applications and Integration, the selected candidate will collaborate with a team of SAP analysts and technical experts to deploy new SAP features, design cross-functional solutions, establish the strategic direction for the application portfolio, manage enhancement priorities, guide team members throughout the project lifecycle, improve internal IT processes, and assist the business in resolving operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- The SAP Solutions Architect will analyze and convert business information and technical specifications into a comprehensive architectural framework that delineates solutions to fulfill business goals.
- Establishes and influences the strategic direction for SAP, demonstrating the capability to convert business requirements into architectural specifications while considering both short-term and long-term IT investment perspectives.
- Collaborates closely with stakeholders across various business sectors to create application architecture blueprints and pragmatic roadmaps.
- Evaluates the existing SAP application architecture to pinpoint weaknesses and opportunities within the application portfolio, fostering system enhancements such as refining business processes, integrating new functionalities, and adjusting the application mix.
- Documents both current and future SAP functional architecture designs, developing a capability roadmap for the business applications portfolio from its present state to future enhancements.
- Produces deliverables and presents findings to executive levels within IT and business sectors.
- Works alongside and directs other team members to improve SAP and other enterprise applications to meet project deadlines and additional business requirements.
- Collaborates with other technical resources within the IT department to provide Level 3 application support, including managing incident tickets and offering 24x7 emergency support in line with service level agreements.
- Oversees the IT Enhancement Intake process and ensures the timely completion of ongoing enhancements.
- Investigates software solutions from SAP and other vendors to assess compatibility and engages in vendor discussions, demonstrations, and product selection.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience through a comparable number of years in relevant work.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal), organizational, and analytical/problem-solving abilities.
- A minimum of 10 years of functional SAP experience, with at least 5 years in cross-functional roles that involve designing solutions across multiple business areas and applications.
- Proficient in analyzing existing SAP and non-SAP business application landscapes (both cloud and on-premises) and defining roadmaps to simplify, enhance, and optimize the organization's application portfolio.
- In-depth knowledge of business processes and configuration across all SAP Finance modules, with a working understanding of the overall IMAX footprint in MM, SD, WM, PP, CS, FSCM, PM, PS, PLM, and CRM, including their respective functional integration points, ideally within the High Tech sector.
- At least 2 full lifecycle implementations/rollouts and support experience in ECC and/or S/4 HANA.
- Strong understanding of day-to-day IT support operations, including SLA management, ITGC compliance, and general software lifecycle maintenance.
- Well-versed in the latest SAP applications and modules, as well as the overall SAP technology roadmap.
