Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized care to adult inpatient Psychiatry patients, including medication administration and behavioral observations
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Monitor patient response to pharmaceutical care interventions and document progress
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance psychiatric nursing skills
Requirements
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • CPI certification
  • Psychiatric nursing certification in progress
  • 1 year minimum acute adult mental health experience
  • Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and psychiatric nursing principles
  • Excellent assessment and crisis intervention, communication, and interpersonal skills
