Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex sample preparation and analyses on samples.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Ensure quality control criteria are met for all reported data.
  • Approve data generated for which the analyst has been trained and validated.
  • Generate reports with results and fax to clients.
  • Understand and troubleshoot analyses.
  • Provide input to corrective action procedures.
  • Ensure deadlines are met.
  • Recommend SOP revisions.
  • Ensure instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained.
  • Use summary reports to plan and organize work.
  • Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
  • Keep work areas clean, neat, and organized.
  • Contribute to daily and weekly planning.
  • Provide input to performance management.
  • Coordinate laboratory projects.
  • Implement and validate existing methods.
  • Write SOPs.
  • Follow up on contaminations and interferences in the laboratory.
  • Question results.
Requirements:
  • BSc in a relevant field (chemistry, biochemistry, or microbiology).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the field.
  • Accreditation by or membership of l'Ordre professionnel des Chimistes or Microbiology (mandatory).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good record-keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Dynamic, energetic, motivated, and positive outlook.
Working Conditions:
  • Work schedule: day/evening and every second Saturday or Sunday.
  • Availability for overtime (1-2 hours/day) from May to December (high season).
  • Fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Work on feet for long hours.
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours/week.
