Technical Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Architect to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Digital Platforms Division, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical architecture for our organization's large-scale web presence.
Key Responsibilities- Craft the technical architecture for the web channel, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Lead the implementation of architecture, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement web technical solutions, leveraging cloud-based web infrastructure and integrating various systems and data sources.
- Develop strategic and operational targets, evaluating progress and making adjustments as necessary.
- Undertake structured analysis of technical issues, translating analysis into technical designs that describe a solution.
- Look for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage a budget and contracts, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial management.
- Experience building an enterprise-scale website, with a proven track record of architecting and implementing web technology such as web CMS.
- Hands-on experience with containerized or cloud web software and infrastructure, including networking, routing, security, databases.
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborative relationships across various teams and levels of the organization.
- Superior communication, interpersonal, and time management skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize work, managing tight deadlines and complex tasks.
- Able to maintain sound judgment and achieve results in high-pressure situations, with experience in leading change, managing risks, and ensuring the achievement of project objectives.
- Decision-making responsibilities in the development and management of high-quality digital products, with a focus on secure service delivery.
- Familiarity with agile delivery methods, such as Scrum, Kanban, and XP.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices that protect data and privacy.
- Track record of modernizing aging systems while maintaining operational excellence.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices.
