Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Progesys Inc is a leading firm specializing in project management and the seamless transition of projects from construction to operational phases. Established in Laval, Canada, Progesys has expanded its reach with offices across the United States, the Middle East, and Asia.

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in the mining and aluminium sectors to enhance our project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee projects involving rotating and piping systems from initiation to completion
  • Conduct mechanical engineering tasks to fulfill project requirements and ensure client satisfaction
  • Develop conceptual models, specifications, and plans based on client discussions
  • Collaborate with other mechanical engineers and multidisciplinary teams, including architects and project managers, to achieve project goals
  • Engage closely with project teams and clients to clarify project scopes
  • Perform site observations and inspections, assist in design, commissioning support, and Quality Assurance/Testing
  • Provide engineering support to the project management team throughout the project lifecycle
  • Deliver precise cost estimates and resource evaluations during the project, including bid assessment processes

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar capacity within industrial projects
  • Familiarity with the aluminium and/or alumina sectors
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, pressure vessels, rotary equipment, piping, and tanks API
  • Knowledge of ASME and API standards
  • Proven ability to inspire teams and foster positive relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, leadership skills, independence, and organizational abilities
  • Capability to adapt in a dynamic work environment
  • Willingness to travel to industrial sites as needed
