Senior Project Accountant

Newlands Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Accountant to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project accounting, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for multiple residential development projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure all costs are captured and allocated correctly.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including project cost summaries, variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain project financial models to support strategic decision-making and project planning.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during project audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
  • Ensure strong internal controls are maintained within the project accounting function.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in project accounting within the real estate development or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, JD Edwards) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
