Job Title: Housekeeper
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeper to join our team at Charles MacPherson Associates. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of a private residence in West Vancouver. This is a full-time live-out position, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with flexibility required for occasional weekends or evenings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily housekeeping, including dusting, vacuuming, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, and washing floors
- Maintaining household inventory and preparing household inventory checklists
- Daily laundry, occasional ironing and steaming, following washing instructions and principal preferences for certain fabrics
- Closet and pantry organization
- Trash and recycling management
- Errands, including grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and dropping off packages
- Special projects, including quarterly deep cleans, weekly fridge clean-outs, and household cupboard reorganization
- Assisting with feeding and preparing the dogs for walks
- Other duties as required from time to time
Requirements:
- 3 years of previous experience working in a private residence
- Excellent housekeeping, laundry, and ironing skills, with correct use of products and methods for fine finishes and surfaces
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage your time and weekly list of responsibilities with minimal oversight
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to succinctly and clearly communicate important updates and suggestions using the family's preferred method of communication
- Reliability, with a consistent work schedule and punctuality
- Respect for the family's desire for privacy and space
- Proactivity, with the ability to anticipate needs before they arise
- Confidentiality at all times
- Service-oriented, with excellent English language skills
- Comfortable working around children and dogs
- Valid driver's license
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic meal preparation skills
