Vancouver Coastal Health is in search of a Registered Nurse to take on the role of Clinical Utilization Specialist. Become an integral part of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities as a Clinical Utilization Specialist with Vancouver Coastal Health:
- Work collaboratively with clinical staff and management to identify and resolve specific challenges affecting patient flow.
- Collaborate with site management to ensure the accuracy of data related to Alternate Levels of Care (ALC) and contribute to innovations aimed at enhancing system efficiency.
- Provide guidance to staff on professional practice matters concerning interprofessional care planning and operational workflows.
About Our Facility
Our facility is a well-equipped acute care institution catering to a diverse population. We offer a wide range of services including emergency care, renal programs, mental health services, surgical interventions, maternity care, and diagnostic imaging.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Active registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- A minimum of four years' recent experience in an acute or community care setting.
- At least one year of leadership experience focusing on patient flow and systems analysis.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of nursing theory and practice within a patient-centered care framework.
- Familiarity with BCCNM standards of practice for registered nurses.
- Expertise in evidence-based nursing practices, clinical pathways, and patient assessments.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to build professional relationships and operate effectively in a complex environment.
- Commitment to change management and client-centered service delivery.
- Leadership capabilities and the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team.
