Status: Full Time

Hours: Friday to Sunday

Pay Rate: $21.42/hr.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Supervisor, you will oversee uniformed security personnel at various high-profile corporate locations, ensuring the safety of facilities, properties, and events.

You will assist the Team Lead and Security Services management with various tasks and responsibilities.

Additionally, you may conduct proactive patrols and respond to incidents across multiple facilities, including parks, transit centers, recreation areas, libraries, and other municipal properties.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring that security personnel meet the required qualifications for their assigned roles.
  • Verifying that all guards are licensed, properly trained, and in appropriate uniform.
  • Coordinating and assessing site-specific training for contract security staff.
  • Conducting random evaluations of guards to ensure compliance with city standards.
  • Responding to significant incidents and ensuring proper documentation of observations and actions.
  • Reviewing incident reports for clarity and accuracy.
  • Implementing disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Providing daily updates to Security Services Management and relevant personnel.
  • Utilizing electronic guard tour software for patrols.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the city.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Security Guard in a municipal or corporate setting is preferred.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong customer service abilities.
  • Possession of a valid Security License for Ontario is required.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification is necessary.
  • A valid G Class License with a clean driving record is essential.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Proficient in using two-way radios and computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required; bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and meet on-site training requirements.
  • Flexibility in shift availability is essential, as security operations run 24/7.
  • Prior experience in loss prevention or security is beneficial.
  • Completion of all required site training within 30 days of hire is mandatory.
  • Additional job-related tasks may be assigned as needed.
  • Successful completion of CPO certification within the first six months (training costs covered by Paladin).
Certification Requirements:

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
