Position Overview:

  • Collaborating effectively with both technical and production teams
  • Creating weldments according to specifications and provided drawings
  • Ensuring a safe and organized work environment

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Red Seal certification is not mandatory
  • Capable of performing various welding tasks
  • Ability to interpret shop drawings and instructions
  • Familiarity with the use and maintenance of jigs
  • Proficient in using hand power tools
  • Recognizing material sizes and specifications
  • Accurate completion of time records and work orders
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to safety practices
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Skills and Competencies:

  • Understanding of production machinery including mills, grinders, lathes, and saws
  • Ability to identify potential safety hazards and suggest improvements
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and protocols
  • Physically demanding role requiring visual acuity
  • Strong decision-making capabilities
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Forklift Operator Certification is a plus
