To excel as a Buyer at YM Inc., you will need the following qualifications:

  1. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and creative abilities with a proven track record of generating and maintaining various reports. Proficiency in Excel is essential for analyzing performance metrics and responding to trends.
  2. Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. A commitment to developing skills and mentoring team members in the buying and production processes is crucial.
  3. Fashion Enthusiasm: A deep passion for fashion, with a continuous awareness of market trends and competitor benchmarks to ensure that assortment plans include key trends and innovative items.
  4. Communication Proficiency: Clear and effective communication skills are vital; you should be comfortable speaking in person, over the phone, and through written correspondence. Your communication style should be approachable, concise, and consistent, particularly during presentations in merchandising meetings and discussions with vendors.
  5. Time Management: The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and urgency in a fast-paced environment. You will need to diligently track and follow up on production processes, deliveries, and priority items.

Additional Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of buying experience, preferably in retail apparel.
  3. Strong negotiation skills.
