About the Team
The Data Platform Group, a vital segment of the Ubisoft Data Office within Ubisoft IT, is responsible for the development and management of data services and tools tailored for game telemetry. Our products serve as a trusted resource across the company, delivering real-time insights into player engagement and gaming habits.
We prioritize knowledge sharing by collecting, processing, and transforming in-game data into clear, actionable visualizations. These valuable metrics empower production teams to make informed decisions, thereby enhancing the overall gaming experience. We promote collaboration, continuous learning, and agile methodologies, with the goal of standardizing processes throughout the ML lifecycle.
The Role
As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will oversee our Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) platform while operationalizing various ML projects. Your expertise will assist teams in the creation, testing, and deployment of ML solutions that enhance safety, personalization, and scalability of ML/AI applications across Ubisoft.
Key Responsibilities
You will streamline and automate ML workflows and deployments, merging software engineering with ML operations. Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Developers, and other stakeholders to tackle complex challenges and deliver tangible value.
Specific Duties Include:
- Overseeing and contributing to the industrialization of ML/AI projects, with a focus on deploying and maintaining pipelines and models in a production environment.
- Designing and implementing services, tests, and interfaces that facilitate the deployment of ML initiatives.
- Playing a pivotal role in the architecture of machine learning systems.
- Ensuring the security, robustness, and performance of ML solutions during production deployments.
- Designing and implementing scalable, end-to-end, continuous, and automated deployment, monitoring, and versioning processes for ML models.
- Guiding, collaborating, and supporting users in optimizing ML pipelines, becoming an expert on the Databricks platform.
- Mentoring and engaging with ML/AI practitioners across Ubisoft, sharing knowledge and best practices in ML Operations.
- Participating in proof-of-concept projects to advance understanding of new ML technologies.
Qualifications
- Proficient in both the overarching and detailed aspects of Data Science/ML Engineering, with solid programming experience in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related discipline, focusing on enhancing model and data quality, with a proven track record in building automated AI processes and managing large-scale data pipelines.
- Experience in deploying models, establishing model validation, and operationalizing AI/ML systems at scale in production settings.
- Familiarity with ML concepts and tools such as MLFlow, along with frameworks/libraries like Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and XGBoost. Experience with Databricks is a plus.
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies, including Spark, PySpark, data engineering, and pipeline architecture is essential.
- A solid foundation in software engineering principles, along with proficiency in DevOps tools and practices.
