Key Responsibilities:

  • The primary role of the Validation Engineer involves conducting verification and validation of automotive systems to comply with federally mandated standards for software functionality (OBD), safety criteria, manufacturability, and overall vehicle performance.
  • The Validation team is tasked with ensuring the integrity of hardware, software, and vehicle operations.
  • Responsible for crafting comprehensive DVPs for Vehicle Validation, overseeing DVP&R management, and formulating test protocols while ensuring traceability of test artifacts to specified requirements, alongside initial root cause analysis.
  • The team is also accountable for accurately documenting testing procedures and innovating new tests to broaden coverage.
  • The Validation Engineer will guarantee the functionality of test properties for validating essential functions, executing tests, and recording results at all I-Points across various programs.
  • The engineer will meticulously document issues within the Portal and GIMs system, providing the Validation Project Chief with all DVP&R outcomes and any unresolved issues identified.
  • The validation engineer will lead in developing and executing testing strategies, ensuring traceability from requirements to outcomes to enhance testing capabilities across diverse vehicle platforms.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of years of experience in automotive testing and validation is essential.
  • Familiarity with the following tools is preferred:
  • Vector CANalyzer and/or Canoe
  • CDA
  • Strong communication skills are necessary.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required, primarily for meetings and team-building activities.
Educational Background:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
