Executive Director of Academic Services

The Executive Director of Academic Services will provide strategic leadership and direction to the Academic Services units at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. This role will be responsible for formulating the vision, goals, and policies for the Academic Services units, ensuring alignment with the institution's overall strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities- Academic Program Leadership
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance academic program excellence, ensuring alignment with the institution's vision, mission, and values.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence, promoting innovation and leading-edge practices.
- Ensure the development of effective program structures, coordination among campuses, and integration of extension activities across the institution.
- Support the development and promotion of student success strategies within the Schools.
- Provide leadership for quality assessment and review, ensuring academic programs meet the highest national accrediting standards.
- Direct the development and implementation of practices, guidelines, processes, and policies that support academic programs.
- Institutional Planning
- Advocate for the institution's strategic directions, supporting the development of the Multi Year Business Plan (MYBP) for program areas.
- Ensure plans and directions are current with emerging trends in the future of work and learning.
- Support student success endeavors, contributing to the corporate decision-making process and strategic organizational direction.
- Relationship Management
- Foster positive working relationships among Academic and Administrative Services units across the institution.
- Collaborate with Deans, Associate Vice Presidents, and Special Advisor to ensure high-quality and consistent services are integrated and support the overall institutional direction.
- Act as a resource to the Provost & Vice President, Academic, President and CEO, and management staff on academic program matters.
- Contribute to the organization's operational effectiveness and policy development by actively participating in strategic and operational decisions.
- People Management
- Ensure a positive, diverse, and inclusive work and learning environment.
- Proactively and strategically recruit and retain outstanding senior leaders and staff at all levels, including positions at the Dean level.
- Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure their success.
- Hold academic leaders accountable for outcomes and a high level of performance.
- Resource Allocation
- Ensure resource allocation for all academic programs is aligned with the organizational planning processes.
- Develop innovative solutions to resource challenges by reallocating resources to align with and support the institution's strategic goals.
- Maximize revenue generation, where appropriate.
