Job Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered, evidence-based care to individuals across their lifespan. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan
  • Integrate clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures
  • Utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research
  • Work closely with other team members to complete initial patient assessments, perform preventative health exams, and do patient follow-ups as required
  • Support the integration of harm reduction into acute care practices
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program at a Master's level
  • Current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) as a Nurse Practitioner (Family/All ages or Adult category)
  • Current BLS with Heart and Stroke
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a front-line clinical setting
  • Clinical experience or additional training in addiction/mental health/inner city health and/or vulnerable populations
