As a Construction Compliance Inspector, you will engage in both field and office work, focusing on the inspection of capital and land development construction projects. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that the work performed by contractors or city personnel adheres to contracts, plans, specifications, municipal standards, regulations, bylaws, and related requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, administer, and inspect Utility and Roads Infrastructure Capital projects to ensure compliance with contract documents, approved plans, and specifications.
- Liaise and coordinate with various city staff, consultants, contractors, and the public.
- Maintain daily inspection reports and journals, complete with photographs and field test reports, and save them to the city's document management system.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and certification of progress draws, bond reductions, change orders, force account, and extra work orders related to Capital Works and Servicing Agreement administration.
- Inspect the installation of private underground utilities, including but not limited to ditch in-fills/crossings, dike construction/modifications, and culvert/bridge installations.
- Document existing damages and construction issues through pre, post, and during construction photography.
- Monitor safety and traffic control measures around construction sites.
- Record and document field changes and review as-built drawing information for accuracy.
- Perform CCTV inspection work in a relief capacity for the Engineering Technician – Inspections.

Qualifications
- Knowledge of methods, practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the construction and installation of sanitary, storm, dike, water, underground lighting, roads, concrete structures, and related services.
- Familiarity with basic engineering and surveying principles and practices, as well as methods and techniques used in inspecting and regulating construction and maintenance projects.
- Ability to interpret standards, specifications, and test methods according to recognized guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Skill in using inspection, testing, and survey instruments and tools.
- Understanding of laboratory field test methods typically employed in civil construction.
- Ability to enforce compliance with plans and specifications impartially and assess the quality of materials and workmanship through inspection.
- Competence in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, contracts, and other engineering documents.
- Capability to prepare technical reports and records related to work performed with minimal supervision.
- Completion of a Diploma in Engineering/Engineering Technology in Civil Engineering, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in technical and inspection work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
