Position Overview
The Senior Accounting Analyst plays a crucial role in evaluating inventory modifications, transactions, and tracking within the inventory management framework. This position also involves generating financial assessments related to these costs.
This role requires ongoing collaboration with distribution centers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of inventory controls and operational processes, as well as their implications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts analysis of daily inventory modifications, including adjustments from cycle counts, and collaborates with inventory teams at distribution centers to mitigate inventory losses.
- Reviews outstanding inventory transactions and coordinates with distribution centers to ensure timely processing of these transactions.
- Performs weekly evaluations of customer credits to determine if inventory adjustments are necessary at distribution centers.
- Maintains constant communication with distribution centers to ensure clarity on inventory controls and operational processes.
- Prepares month-end journal entries as required.
- Contributes to financial analyses regarding purchasing and holding margins.
- Generates monthly invoices for distribution and storage fees related to government inventories; prepares credits for monthly sales reimbursements and submits bank transfer requests.
- Assists in the preparation of quarterly inventory cycle counts as part of SOX compliance.
- Conducts SOX testing as requested.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 4 years in a similar capacity.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AS 400, and familiar with SAP.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
The individual in this role will provide daily support to both internal and external clients, necessitating proficiency in spoken and written English.
