Rehabilitation Services Assistant

In this position, the OTA/PTA will provide essential support to the Rehabilitation Services team, which includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists.

Required Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid Certificate of Competence from an accredited Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant program, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the hospital.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of recent experience as a PT/OT Assistant is required, or an equivalent experience acceptable to the hospital.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize patient care requirements.
  • Capability to perform tasks independently.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with software programs such as Cerner, Powerchart, and Microsoft Office is advantageous.
  • Experience in engaging with patients and families to deliver patient-centered, goal-oriented care.
  • Commitment to maintaining Privacy and Confidentiality is crucial.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethics in previous roles are expected.
Additional Information
  • Compensation is in accordance with the UNIFOR Collective Agreement, ranging from $26.91 to $27.95 per hour.
