About the Role

MatrixHR is currently recruiting skilled Sheet Metal Workers for an exciting opportunity with one of our esteemed clients in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess job sites and set up equipment prior to commencing work.
  • Follow safety protocols and comply with safety and occupational standards.
  • Read and interpret installation diagrams.
  • Install ducting and equipment as per diagrams and direction from the Supervisor.
  • Carry out HVAC installation, which includes ducting, fasteners on hangers and ducts, and insulation.
  • Anchor and hook-up HVAC machinery such as air handling units, fans, chillers, ventilation equipment, etc.
  • Assist in verifying that HVAC installation is functioning.
Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced environment. Noisy.
  • Physically demanding. Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Attention to detail; good eye-hand coordination.
  • Confined or restricted areas.
Certifications and Qualifications
  • Confined Space.
  • Fall Protection.
  • WHMIS.
  • Holds a valid Red Seal accreditation OR Proof of Apprenticeship.
  • Relevant experience in HVAC installation.
  • Marine sheet metal experience is an asset.
  • Good work quality and ability to work steadily to meet project timelines.
  • Good physical dexterity to work in tight or awkward locations.
