Job Summary

Lakeridge Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Medical/Surgical Unit. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide safe, competent care to assigned patients
  • Develop a plan of care for patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (within good standing)
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Coronary Care I course (Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation) or equivalent experience
  • Recent related clinical experience in general medicine and surgical care nursing
  • Proven cardiac rhythm and patient assessment skills
  • Critical Care Certificate course or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated wound management and pain management skills
  • Knowledgeable regarding the application of health and safety and infection control principles
  • Sound knowledge and application of nursing skills as listed in the C.N.O. 'Standards of Nursing Practice'
  • Proven organizational, critical thinking, problem-solving and teaching skills
  • Able to assume a charge/resource role
  • Sound judgment, good observation and patient assessment skills
  • Flexibility/adaptability to work assignments, tact and empathy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to perform appropriately in emergency situations
  • Physically capable to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Cardiac Monitoring course and/or Critical Care Certificate course or equivalent experience
  • Must have a satisfactory performance record
