Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at 2516947 Ontario Inc. as a permanent employee.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This includes creating a safe and nurturing environment that encourages children to express their creativity through various activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
  • Developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Storytelling and engaging children in activities
  • Supervising staff, trainees, or volunteers
  • Assisting early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Ordering supplies and equipment
  • Assisting early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • Encouraging children to express their creativity through various media
  • Guiding and assisting children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Discussing progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations
  • Attending staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers working with children
  • Planning and maintaining an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • Supervising and coordinating activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
Work Environment:

The work site environment is non-smoking, and the work setting is a child care centre.

Security and Safety:

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic security clearance, criminal record check, immunization records, tuberculosis test, and vulnerable sector check.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

The job requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The work is physically demanding and requires attention to detail.

Personal Suitability:

The successful candidate will possess excellent oral communication skills, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, and team player skills.
