Position Summary:
We are seeking a Manager of Product Management & Sourcing to oversee the unique aspects of the Canadian market concerning product selections and supply sources. This role is pivotal in formulating a product strategy and sourcing plan tailored to achieve specific objectives related to revenue enhancement, cost efficiency, and profit margins. The individual will be accountable for the practical implementation of these strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage the distinct Canadian product offerings.
  • Create business plans for new product introductions and oversee the product lifecycle.
  • Establish sourcing strategies for the Canadian market, focusing on cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with key business leaders and teams in Product Management and Purchasing.
  • Adjust the product assortment to align with customer requirements and corporate objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analyze data to uncover opportunities and potential risks affecting the product line.
  • Implement pricing and branding strategies as directed by senior management to maximize revenue, profit margins, and inventory management.
  • Engage in promotional activities to boost product visibility and market share.
  • Monitor and report on product categories consistently.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Coordinate product management initiatives across various departments and branch teams.
  • Ensure a reliable and high-quality vendor network.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal product quality, pricing, and delivery terms.
  • Work closely with sales teams and customers to gain insights into market demands.
  • Design surveys and consult with management on marketing strategies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related discipline, accompanied by 7 years of diverse experience in supply chain, purchasing, or product management within a distribution or manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • APICS Certification (CPIM) or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Proficient in developing an index-based costing methodology leveraging global indexes for material and production costs, labor, packaging, transportation, and currency exchange rates for international sourcing.
  • Ability to negotiate an index-based costing model with key suppliers to mitigate risks in fluctuating markets and enhance margin opportunities during downturns.
  • Capability to align supplier agreements to ensure mutual benefits for sales and procurement.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on utilizing data to resolve issues or enhance processes.
  • Extensive experience with ERP systems and the ability to synthesize large data sets into management reports.
  • Competence in presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership effectively.
  • Ability to influence and guide all organizational levels, including internal stakeholders and management.
  • Self-driven with a proven ability to lead decision-making processes for cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success in similar roles within Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Product Management.
  • Solid business acumen with knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma process improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Familiarity with fasteners, cutting tools, abrasives, electrical supplies, fluid power products, and shop-type MRO items is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with SAP is a plus.
