About the Role

The Senior Property Manager position at BGIS is a key role in the management of commercial real estate portfolios. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of property professionals and overseeing the day-to-day operations of a large geographic area, including office and mixed-use assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive tenant and client relationships through effective communication and proactive issue resolution.
  • Provide excellent tenant service, responding to requests and issues in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Act as direct tenant liaison to ensure coordinated and organized construction activity and landlord work.
  • Meet with property team, tenants, vendors, contractors, and senior management to review and resolve operational challenges.
  • Responsible for all relevant tenant communications and accountable for the Fire, Life, health, and safety of operations within the building.
  • Hold shared accountability for building presentation to ensure a best-in-class image is upheld at all times.
  • Provide assistance in the fulfillment of maintenance and upkeep of ongoing resources and financial performance.
  • Coordinate tenant/stakeholder meetings and assist in the preparation and implementation of initiatives to increase and uphold the quality and effectiveness of tenant/owner relations.
  • Lead and develop a diverse property and operations team.
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership and exploring opportunities to add value to managed assets.
  • Manage inspection and audit process for services delivered and manage and report non-conformances and critical incidents.

Requirements

  • Financial acumen and experience with property accounting and reporting.
  • Community college diploma or equivalent training (CPM, RPA, FMA).
  • More than ten years of directly relevant Commercial Real Estate Property Management experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with peers, managers, and clients in both French and English.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience with RFP and Federal Government procurement processes an asset.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • CFM through IFMA.
  • CPM through Institute of Real Estate Management.
  • FMA Designation through BOMI.
  • RPA through BOMI.
