Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at FedEx Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day sort operations and supervising a team of Cargo Handlers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide employees in proper package handling, routing, and recovery of potential service failures.
  • Oversee all Cargo Handler functions, including direction of work activities, employee mentoring, coaching, and training.
  • Ensure administrative processes are compliant with company policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Manage and prioritize tasks in a time-sensitive manner, delegating responsibilities as needed.
  • Address and resolve conflict management, communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to simplify business operations while maintaining quality standards.
  • Take accountability for departmental performance, identifying and implementing solutions to address failures.
Requirements
  • College degree
  • 2 years FedEx sort operations or senior-level hourly role experience OR 2 years supervisory experience in a related industry
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrency training, including DG certification
  • Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • EXCEL Leadership Development Stream
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and act as a knowledge resource to other employees
  • Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team
