Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Remediation Specialist to enhance our skilled team of environmental professionals. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of remediation strategies, technologies, and innovative practices. As a senior expert, you will play a crucial role in our technical service offerings, focusing on the design and execution of advanced remedial solutions while delivering expert technical guidance to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic and technical consulting services related to remediation for clients and SLR personnel engaged in intricate projects throughout Canada.
  • Develop comprehensive Remedial Options Analyses, Remedial Action Plans, and engineering designs, along with necessary technical documentation such as reports, drawings, and work plans for client and regulatory submissions.
  • Oversee project execution ensuring adherence to health & safety standards, project scope, timelines, budget constraints, quality assurance, and client satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities across various sectors to expand client relationships.
  • Collaborate with other SLR divisions to enhance service offerings and cross-sell to existing clients.
  • Lead business development initiatives and proposal efforts to meet strategic objectives.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate staff, providing support and guidance for their professional growth.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and methodologies to advance industry practices.
  • Participate in managing and supervising field operations conducted by contractors and SLR personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field (e.g., environmental engineering, civil engineering, earth systems science); a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations and best practices in remediation and site assessment.
  • Experience in:
    • Creating and executing remediation strategies for various environmental media.
    • Designing and evaluating in-situ remedial systems.
    • Managing environmental projects and leading project teams.
    • Contract management for large-scale remediation projects.
    • Business development and client relationship management.
    • Overseeing performance monitoring and conducting technical reviews of reports.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Geoscientist in applicable jurisdictions.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
