Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Chef to join our team at Downtown Village. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Educational Requirements- Completion of secondary (high) school education is mandatory.
This role is situated in a vibrant restaurant setting, where creativity and teamwork thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Showcase innovative cooking methods and introduce new kitchen equipment to the culinary team.
- Develop and refine unique recipes that enhance our menu offerings.
- Guide kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of dishes.
- Oversee the activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Regularly prepare and cook meals, catering to both everyday patrons and special events.
- Design menus that align with quality standards and customer preferences.
- Prepare meals accommodating customers with dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Educate staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.
- Expertise in South Indian cuisine
- Knowledge of Szechuan flavors
- Experience with East Indian dishes
- Proficiency in Vegetarian cooking
- Familiarity with West Indian culinary traditions
- Minimum of 1 year and up to 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- This is a permanent position.
- Work will be conducted primarily in English.
- Expected working hours range from 30 to 40 hours per week.
