As a Speech-Language Pathologist (Permanent, full-time), you will deliver essential speech-language pathology services to our patients, focusing on enhancing communication and swallowing abilities.

Whether your work is conducted in an office, community setting, or healthcare facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring connected, patient-centered care, supported by a collaborative team of over 9,000 healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

· Respond to patient referrals to effectively provide speech-language pathology services.

· Evaluate patients' communication and swallowing capabilities using various assessment tools to identify treatment needs and goals.

· Design and implement tailored treatment programs and strategies to meet established therapy objectives related to communication and swallowing.

· Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure goals are achieved.

· Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and progress.

· Connect patients with additional services as required.

· Balance patient needs with available resources, ensuring respect for patient values and preferences.

· Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, goals, treatment plans, and interventions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Speech-Language Pathologist in good standing with the relevant regulatory body.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of speech-language pathology services and community resources.
  • Understanding of the roles of various healthcare professionals.
  • Relevant experience in a community or healthcare setting.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of speech-language pathology tools and assistive technologies.
  • Familiarity with applicable legislation regarding healthcare services and privacy.
  • Knowledge of professional standards and guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
  • Effective communication skills across various formats.
  • Proficiency in computer software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel within the designated area.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with diverse patient populations, including multicultural and specialized groups.

· Background in case management or related community experience.

· Bilingual abilities are a plus.
