Job Title: Intermediate Open Pit Mining Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Open Pit Mining Engineer to join our team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Vancouver, BC.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly motivated team involved in mine engineering studies, ranging from open pit mine design and scheduling through capital and operating cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct data evaluation and interpretation, including productivity, costing, and resource definition.
  • Develop open pit optimization, planning, scheduling, and design.
  • Perform simulation and cost estimation for mining equipment fleets.
  • Provide site operational support for short, mid, and long-range planning.
  • Collaborate with environmental and tailings planning groups in the development and design of large mining and closure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with and active participation in Stantec and client safety programs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mining engineering.
  • Preferred minimum of 3 years industry or consulting experience.
  • Eligible for registration as an EIT or P.ENG with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and satisfactory Driver's Abstract, per Stantec's Safe Driving Policy.
