About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Teacher of the Blind or Visually Impaired to join our team at School District #40 (New Westminster).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to provide a comprehensive education program
  • Provide instruction and support in the use of assistive technology and adaptive techniques
  • Assess and address the educational needs of students with visual impairments
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to ensure a collaborative approach to student learning
Requirements
  • BC Teaching Certificate with a specialization in Special Education
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
