About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Roofing Apprentice to join our team at Flynn Canada Ltd. As a Roofing Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting experienced roofers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of various roofing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of built-up roofing systems, including asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.
  • Help install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
  • Assist in the installation of single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions.
  • Support the repair or replacement of single-ply roofing systems.
  • Participate in instructing apprentices and assisting in the training of new team members.
  • Assist in the installation and repair of metal roofs using hand and power tools.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the roofing industry.
  • Work site environment: At heights, noisy, dusty, and outdoors.
  • Work setting: Various locations, commercial, and industrial.
  • Physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working under pressure.
  • Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, and team player.
