Role Overview:

The Edgeband Production Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the Edgebander, ensuring high-quality output in line with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure the Edgebander according to job requirements, adjusting parameters such as feed speed, cutter heads, and pressure settings.
  • Execute precise setup and calibration procedures for all machinery and tools involved in the edgebanding process.
  • Prepare and verify raw materials for edgebanding, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specified dimensions.
  • Oversee the edgebanding operation to confirm that finished products adhere to quality benchmarks, including defect inspection and edge alignment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on the Edgebander, which includes cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn or damaged components to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Diagnose and resolve operational issues with the Edgebander, such as jams, inconsistencies in feeding, or dull blades, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Strive to meet production targets and deadlines by optimizing machine settings and minimizing downtime during changeovers or maintenance.
  • Work independently while effectively managing time to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating an Edgebander or a comparable machine.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on primary responsibilities.
  • A natural curiosity and a commitment to excellence, consistently seeking opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Demonstrated initiative in maintaining a safe work environment and actively participating in Environmental Health and Safety practices.
