Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Welcome customers, manage phone inquiries, and provide information regarding medications and pharmacy services with professionalism.
  • Prescription Management: Assist in the processing of prescription orders, which includes data entry, labeling, and packaging under the guidance of licensed pharmacists or pharmacy technicians.
  • Medication Preparation: Accurately count, measure, and package medications, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Inventory Oversight: Receive and organize incoming shipments of medications and supplies. Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stock management.
  • Sanitation and Organization: Ensure the pharmacy area remains clean and orderly, including medication storage and workstations. Dispose of expired medications following regulatory standards.
  • Administrative Duties: Handle clerical tasks such as filing and document management. Assist with insurance claims processing and prescription transfers as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow all relevant laws, regulations, and pharmacy policies, maintaining confidentiality and privacy standards.
  • Additional Tasks: Participate in special projects and promotional activities as directed by pharmacy management.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy assistant program or relevant healthcare certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in retail or healthcare is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a professional demeanor.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in medication handling and documentation.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and pharmacy software (training available).
  • Team Collaboration: Willingness to work effectively within a team and contribute positively to the workplace culture.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by pharmacy operations.
Working Conditions:
  • This part-time role typically involves 20-24 hours of work per week.
  • Job responsibilities may require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of moderate-weight items.
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
