About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecom Engineer to join our team at Raymond James Financial, Inc. in Burnaby, BC. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our advanced telecommunications infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Telecommunications Infrastructure
    • Design, implement, and maintain our voice and video infrastructure, including Zoom Cloud solutions (UCaaS) and hosted and complex on-premise Cisco solutions.
    • Support the Speakerbus Trade Desk system and other telecommunications systems.
  • Network Operations
    • Deploy, manage, and support all aspects of our voice and video infrastructure.
    • Contribute to the design, configuration, and maintenance of our networking, security firewalls, and operating systems.
    • Provide timely support, analysis, and resolution for related problems.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide customer-first service and support to our internal and external customers.
    • Liaise with customers and vendors to resolve issues and improve services.
  • Planning and Projects
    • Work with Service Now to manage tickets and complete operational and project-based changes.
    • Prepare capacity plans for Expressways, PRI, network, bandwidth utilization, security, and growth or change.
    • Assist business units in technology planning and contribute to the Technology Road Map planning.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Experience
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in large-scale telecommunications environments.
    • Strong background in Zoom Video and Phone migrations and deployment.
    • Understanding of Voice and Video protocols and services, including signaling, audio codecs, SIP, PRI/BRI, and multicast.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Complex large-scale project management experience.
    • Customer service-oriented mindset.
    • Expert experience with Voice and Video platforms.
    • Excellent documentation skills, including complex Visio diagrams.
    • Experience in working in a project management environment.
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • Cisco CCIE Collaboration.
    • Cisco Routing and Switching - preferred.
    • Palo Alto (PCCET/PCNSA/PCNSE).
    • ITIL certification is preferred.
