Role Summary:
As a Security Officer, you will be stationed at healthcare facilities, ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular security patrols and responding promptly to incidents.
  • Exhibiting outstanding customer service skills, especially when interacting with individuals in distress.
  • Maintaining physical fitness to perform duties effectively, including standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Executing a variety of security measures, including interior and exterior patrols of the premises.
  • Providing assistance in accordance with the Mental Health Act when necessary.
  • Offering escort services for staff and visitors upon request.
  • Documenting all shift activities and maintaining accurate logs.
  • Writing detailed reports following investigations or significant occurrences.
  • Reviewing CCTV footage and following up on incidents as required.
  • Enforcing facility rules and regulations, including the removal of violators when necessary.
  • Managing administrative tasks such as ID badge issuance and lost and found services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering courteous and professional service to all individuals.
  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse populations.
  • Communicating clearly with medical staff and the public while maintaining professionalism.
  • Exhibiting composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Producing clear and concise written reports.
  • Addressing any concerns with the Site Coordinator.

Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Educational background in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Trespass to Property Act and the Mental Health Act.
  • Proof of double Covid Vaccination and an up-to-date Immunization Record.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
